This year, the world cup has a new format. If you are not up to speed on that, feel free to read up on the World Cup Format below. Like the World Cup always does, the wager will have two phases. First, you will complete a Google Form in which you predict the outcome of each of the 72 group stage games. This initial form will also allow you to set a display name for when you get to the top of the Leaderboard.
After the conclusion of the group stage on the evening of June 27th, there will be a 15 hour turnaround to get your picks in for the elimination bracket. There will be a fillable Google sheets bracket shared for you to make your picks for each round and eventually predict the winner of the World Cup. It's extremely important that you get your picks in prior to the start of the knockout phase. Reach out to one of the organizers if you need help; we don't want people getting disqualified!
AGAIN: ANY BRACKETS SUBMITTED AFTER KICKOFF OF THE ELIMINATION PHASE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

More games, more excitement and more teams. The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will have a new format, featuring 48 teams (16 more than Qatar 2022™), 104 matches (40 more than the last edition), an additional knockout round and the need to win more matches to lift the World Cup.
The eagerly-anticipated tournament will take place across Canada, Mexico and the USA between 11 June and 19 July 2026.
The tournament will be the first ever to feature 48 teams. For this reason, the 32-team, eight-group, format has been replaced by one with 12 groups of four. The top two teams in each group, plus the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 32.
Adopting 12 groups of four was chosen over the option of 16 groups of three teams, based on a thorough review that took into consideration a number of factors, including team and fan experience, player welfare and sporting integrity.
